Suka sama Michael Learns To Rock? Band asal Denmark ini bakal mengadakan konser di Indonesia pada akhir tahun 2012. Band ini diawaki oleh Jascha Richter (lead vocal, keyboard), Mikkel Lentz (vokal, drum), dan Kare Wanscher (vokal, gitar). Album terbaru mereka, Scandinavia, sudah dirilis akhir tahun kemarin.

Give Thanks to Allah - Michael Jackson ?

Tentunya teman - teman sudah tahu siapa itu Michael Jackson, kan? Untuk teman - teman yang lahir di era akhir 70an atau awal 80an, tentunya sangat mengenalnya. Aku masih ingat dengan beberapa lagunya, diantaranya "Heal The World", "Black or White", dan sebagainya. Baru saja Raja Musik Pop dunia ini meninggal, dan mengikuti perkembangan beritanya, sepertinya banyak skenario mengenai sebab - sebab kematiannya. Tapi, hal itu tidak menjadi persoalan. Saat ini, yang juga ikut merebak adalah perdebatan mengenai agama terakhir Michael Jackson. Disinyalir Michael Jackson sudah berpindah agama ke agama Islam. Hal ini dibarengi dengan munculnya kembali lagu "Give Thanks to Allah", yang disinyalir merupakan lagunya Michael Jackson. Setelah mencoba mencari informasi lebih dalam lagi, ternyata perdebatan mengenai lagu tersebut sudah dimulai sekitar tahun 2004 (atau mungkin lebih awal lagi). Kemudian aku memperoleh informasi yang menarik, bahwa ternyata lagu tersebut bukan lagu Michael Jackson. Ya, lagu "Give Thanks to Allah" bukan lagu Michael Jackson. Lagu tersebut ternyata ditulis dan direkam oleh Zain Bikha.

SIAPA ITU ZAIN BIKHA?
Zain Bikha adalah penyanyi sekaligus penulis lagu kelahiran Afrika Selatan, tepatnya tanggal 9 Agustus 1974, di Pretoria. Dan lagu "Give Thanks to Allah" adalah salah satu lagu ciptaannya yang merupakan bagian dalam albumnya 9 yang berjudul "Towards The Light" pada track ke 9, yang direleasenya pada tahun 2000.



Pada awalnya, lagu ini malah diciptakannya sebagai lagu anak - anak yang sederhana. Berikut adalah lirik lagu tersebut :

Peace be with you dear friends,

I too, like the rest of the world, was quite shocked to hear of the death of singer and songwriter, Micheal Jackson. During the 80’s and 90’s, my young days are filled with memories of his songs and performances and no doubt, he has influenced me in various ways, especially with the intensity of his tremendous talent. I think what strikes me most was his vocal ability in terms of range, expression, emotion and unique tone.

“To our Lord do we belong and to Him is our return”.

The reason I bring all this up is merely because since before his death and quite amplified now after, I have been inundated with e-mails and calls from people, organizations and the media asking me to clarify whether a song called “Give Thanks to Allah” was sung by Micheal Jackson or myself. This rumor started a while ago and has been circulating on the internet ever since.

So, to clarify, Micheal Jackson never sang this song. I wrote and recorded “Give Thanks to Allah” as a simple children song many years ago and it has been released on various independent albums since.
